DIN 6918 is a tapered square washer used in high-strength bolted connections for steel structures involving U-channels (U-profiles). Thanks to its wedge-like shape, the washer compensates for the 8% slope of the channel surface, providing a flat bearing surface for the bolt head or nut. Hot-dip galvanizing protects the washer against corrosion.
