What is a stainless hammer rivet?
This is one of the oldest types of stainless steel mounting. Simple and versatile fastener, which creates reliable, high-strength and long-term integral connections of two or more structural elements of different materials. Connections made with this fastener are resistant to static, dynamic, shock, vibration loads, etc.
It is a full-bodied metal rod of cylindrical shape, at one end of which is the head. Installation of rivets under the hammer is carried out using a special tool - a hammer, which flattens one end of the rod, creating a reliable connection.
Hammer rivets can have different lengths, rod diameters and head shapes.
Hammer rivets are made of stainless steel class A2 and acid-resistant steel class A4. Aluminum, copper, brass, etc. can also be used as a material for manufacturing. The most common are hammer rivets made of A2 and A4 steels. Thanks to the alloying elements which are a part of these steels, rivets under a hammer from stainless steel are steady against influence of corrosion, external atmospheric phenomena, sharp differences of temperatures, well show in the conditions of the increased humidity, etc. A4 steel products can be used in structures that come into contact with some aggressive environments: salty seawater, acids and alkaline solutions.
