Design features and characteristics of some types of washers
Let's consider in more detail some types of washers presented in this section of the site.
- A spherical washer – is a hardware product designed for fastening structural elements in non-parallel surfaces. There are three types of shapes - C (curved), D and G (concave). They are most in demand in mechanical engineering and instrument engineering.
- The washer is adjustable. It has a flat shape and is used in the case when it is necessary to position the details of the structure that are fastened as accurately as possible. Also, these washers are used as spacers to create a uniform gap between the parts.
- Nord-lock and Heiko-lock washers – re locking type metal products. There are teeth on the surface of the washers, which are the main locking element. These washers are used in structures subject to frequent vibrations. Nord-lock and Heiko-lock do not allow loosening of the fastening connection and block self-unscrewing.
- Starlock washer. Another locking hardware. A more "advanced" analog of a regular retaining ring. Fixes so firmly that it is impossible to remove it without deformation. Withstands a load of up to sixty tons. The washer is used in any field of activity.
- Mounting ring. It is used to install elements on the shaft. They are distinguished by a thread and a hole for a pin. The size range of mounting rings is quite wide. Each size has its own inner and outer diameters.
