Design features and characteristics of eye nuts and other hardware
Let's take a closer look at some of the types of nuts presented in this section of the site.
- Eye nut or, as it is also called, a nut with a ring - structurally is a base in the form of a nut with a through hole, inside which the thread is cut, and a mounting ring. They are designed for mounting elements that have high loads. The ring can be round and elliptical. With its help the nut is fixed, after which it is possible to insert a cable, rope or rod.
Threaded plug or plug is designed to close (plug) various threaded holes. It can have a short and a long threaded part with different thread pitch. - Mortar nut. It consists of a casing with legs and a plate with a thread. It is used in cases when other type of fastening, except a bookmark, is impossible. This nut is most popular when installing wires, cables, tubes and more.
- Erickson's nut. It belongs to the segment of furniture hardware. It has a flat head. The nut is intended for reliable tightening of elements of furniture designs of any type.
- T-shaped nut. From the name of the hardware it is clear that the nut has a T-shape. It has a special protrusion that prevents the return of hardware in the grooves. That is why the nut is most often used in mechanical engineering and instrumentation.
