Technical characteristics
A self-locking nut is a nut used in fasteners that are constantly subjected to dynamic loads, particularly vibration, which can cause them to loosen. In DIN 985 nuts, the locking mechanism is provided by a nylon ring that is threaded as the nut is tightened.
Applications: DIN 985 is used in mechanical engineering, construction, warehouse equipment, lifting equipment, agricultural machinery, tools, etc.
Material: High-strength alloy structural steel. The high strength class 10 allows these nuts to be used in high-load fasteners.
Coating: Flake zinc coating protects against corrosion when the fasteners are intended for use in aggressive environments.
