DIN 463 Lock washer with two legs is a fastener used for locking hexagonal bolts and nuts, mainly on corners and faces. The larger leg is bent downward, beyond the edge of the part to be clamped, and the smaller leg is bent upward, pressing against the face of the nut or bolt head, making it impossible to loosen them.
DIN 463 fastening group
DIN 463 washers are most often made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless fastener group.
Materials for the manufacture of DIN 463 washers
DIN 463 washers are made of the following materials:
- Steel, which is additionally coated with zinc to protect against corrosion if the fastener is to be used in aggressive environments.
- Stainless steel A2, A4 allows the fasteners to be used at significant temperature drops and in aggressive and humid environments.
Application range of DIN 463 washers
DIN 463 is widely used in mechanical engineering, construction and manufacturing industries for good fastening of structural elements, prevents self loosening of threaded connections under dynamic impact and vibration.
It is used in conjunction with bolts, screws, threaded rods in mechanical engineering, instrumentation, wooden construction and other industrial, manufacturing and construction areas.
