DIN 7984 is a fastener consisting of a metal stud with an incomplete metric thread and a cylindrical head with an INBUS (hexagonal) slot. DIN 7984 is an analog of GOST 11738-84.
Strength class DIN 7984
The DIN 7984 bolt is made of steel of only the highest strength class - 8.8 and 10.9.
DIN 7984 fastening group
DIN 7984 screws are divided into the following groups depending on the material of manufacture:
- High-strength fasteners (made of high-strength steel)
- Stainless fasteners (made of stainless steel grade A2 and A4)
Materials of manufacture
The DIN 7984 bolt is used for connecting and fastening parts and structures in construction and mechanical engineering.
The range of applications also depends on the material of manufacture and the coating of the product:
- Zinc coating on steel protects against corrosion if the fastener is to be used in aggressive environments
- Stainless steel, grade A2. The material is non-toxic and corrosion-resistant, which makes it suitable for use in the food and medical industries.
- A4 is the second most popular grade; it also has similar properties to A2, but is more resistant to corrosion in aggressive environments and acids due to the addition of molybdenum.
