GOST 1144-80 Semicircular head screw is a type of fastener consisting of a semicircular head with a straight slot, a rod with an external thread and a conical tip. It is used for fastening various structural elements to wood, chipboard, plywood, gypsum boards, thin sheet metal, etc. The screw can be used to fasten parts without preliminary drilling. The screw can be used with concrete, plasterboard and brick. For this purpose, a hole is pre-drilled and a spacer dowel is installed.

Materials for the manufacture of GOST 1144-80 screws
Screws of GOST 1144-80 are made of the following materials:
- Steel, which can be additionally coated with zinc. Zinc protects against corrosion if the fasteners are to be used in aggressive environments
- Stainless steel grades A2 and A4. This steel grade allows the fasteners to be used at high temperature extremes and in aggressive and humid environments.
- Brass. Brass fasteners are used if the system is subjected to frequent dynamic, vibration and cyclic loads.
