Self-locking Nut it is a nut used in connection elements that are constantly under the influence of dynamic loads, and especially vibration, which can cause untwisting. Contouring in DIN 980 is due to the design features of the hole: it can be a narrowed edge of the hole, or a special metal retaining ring, depending on the shape. When used in elevated temperatures, it is best to choose DIN 980.
