A flanged toothed nut is a fastener that creates a split threaded connection with an increased contact area, which allows for both redistribution of pressure on the material and the creation of a larger friction patch to prevent loosening and is used when fastening parts to grooves along which the part can move. DIN 6923 has a standard height dimension for these types of nuts, a wider flange than 6331, but thinner, and one that can have a flat surface and a serrated notch to prevent loosening.
DIN 6923 is used in industrial construction, machine tool and instrumentation, etc.
The material of manufacture is high-strength structural alloy steel. The high strength class 8 allows the nuts to be used in highly loaded connections.
The zinc coating protects against corrosion if the fasteners are to be used in aggressive environments.
Analogs of GOST P 50592-93, ISO 4161, ISO 10663.
