A four-petal rivet is a pull-through rivet with a sheared shank, designed for quick and easy joining of rigid materials to soft or low-strength materials. The shank head has edges that longitudinally cut through the rivet body on the blind side. It splits into four petals that bend outward and engage with the material being riveted, forming a large-diameter closing head. This large expansion on the blind side distributes the load and clamping force, reducing the risk of material fracturing and failure. Once the riveting process is complete, the shank head is sheared off, leaving a central hole.
The enlarged flange is the part of the rivet with a larger diameter, used to ensure better grip with the base material. This flange allows for even load distribution during riveting and provides greater joint strength, especially in conditions requiring high resistance to vibration or tearing.
Applications: commercial vans, construction, plastic components, woodworking industry.
Material: a combination of aluminum and steel components.
