DIN 128 is a spring washer, a simple metal fastener that can withstand high impact loads and act as a locking device. The spring washer is a single coil of a flat spring. Failure-free operation of the part is ensured by the fact that the gap of the part diverges in the opposite direction from the direction of rotation of the nut, which prevents it from spontaneously unwinding.
DIN 128 fastening group
DIN 128 is made primarily of stainless steel and belongs to the stainless steel fastener group.
Materials used to manufacture DIN 128 washers
DIN 128 washers are made from the following materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc and hot-dip galvanized
- Stainless steel grades A2 and A4
Application range of DIN 128 washers
The DIN 128 washer is widely used in construction, instrumentation and mechanical engineering. There, it serves as a locking part to prevent the threaded connection from loosening. It is used in conjunction with bolts, studs, self-tapping screws and others to increase the pressure zone on the pressed element and prevent self-tightening of threaded connections.
