DIN 128 Spring lock washer

 DIN 128 is a spring washer, a simple metal fastener that can withstand high impact loads and act as a locking device. The spring washer is a single coil of a flat spring. Failure-free operation of the part is ensured by the fact that the gap of the part diverges in the opposite direction from the direction of rotation of the nut, which prevents it from spontaneously unwinding.

It is used in conjunction with bolts, studs, self-tapping screws and others to increase the pressure zone on the pressed element and prevent self-tightening of threaded connections.
