Technical characteristics of DIN 1480: types, overall dimensions, weight, load, threads
DIN 1480 is a lanyard whose main application is to connect various elements of mounting or tensioning structures. Also, this type is used for suspension of cables by pulling the carrier cable or stretching advertising banners. This type of lanyard is ready to use immediately and has no bolt or cotter pin connections.
The DIN 1480 lanyard is available in three forms:
- Hook hook, it is equipped with a hook on both sides
- Hook-ring, which is a lanyard with a hook on one side and a ring on the other
- Ring-ring - a ring on both sides.
Also sometimes there is a lanyard din 1480 fork-fork.
Type of thread
The lanyard is manufactured exclusively with metric thread. Read about the dimensional grid of lanyards in din 1480 pdf.
How it works
The DIN 1480 lanyard is a fairly simple fastener, the principle of its operation can be compared to conventional bolts with elongated rods, but instead of a standard head, they have a ring or hook. The lanyard ring must be securely attached to the support base. A loop of steel cable or chain is put on the hook, and the other end is simply fixed to the rigging.
Materials and coatings
The DIN 1480 lanyards are made of steel, which is additionally coated with zinc or galvanized zinc, which protects the lanyard from corrosion.
Field of application
DIN 1480 is used for fastening various mounting elements and products; for tensioning advertising banners; for tensioning cable suspension cables; and for other assembly, lifting and utility work.
