Depending on the material of manufacture, DIN 315 wing nuts are divided into groups:
- Brass fastener - fastener made of brass
- Stainless steel fasteners - nuts are made of stainless steel

DIN 315 is available in a variety of materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc
- Brass, material does not need to be coated
- Stainless steel grades A2 and A4, which also do not require a coating.
