Oversized washer DIN 440 R

    DIN 440 R Oversized washer is a fastener that has the form of a flat disk with a smooth cylindrical hole in the middle, the diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the metric product with which it is used. The difference between R and V versions is in the hole: R - cylindrical hole, V - square hole.

     Most often, DIN 440 washers are made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless fastener group.

Materials for the manufacture of DIN 440 washers

     DIN 440 is available in the following materials: 

• Steel, which is additionally coated with zinc. Zinc (Plated) protects against corrosion if the fastener is to be used in aggressive environments.
• Stainless steel A2 and A4. Allows the fasteners to be used at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments.

Application range of DIN 440 R washers

     DIN 440 R is most often used in the installation of wooden structures, due to its ability to increase the clamping area. But it also finds its application in mechanical engineering and construction, where a strong bearing surface is required at the joint. 

     The DIN 440 Oversized Flat Washer is used for assembling wooden structures. The washer has a standard round shape but is characterized by an enlarged diameter. The large pressing area reduces the load on the surface of the product and prevents loosening of the connection due to wear of the hole.
