The DIN 906 plug is a turnkey fastener with a hexagonal recess. The DIN 906 plug is available in two forms - tapered fine metric thread and pipe inch thread. A DIN 906 plug is also sometimes called a threaded plug or a turnkey hexagonal threaded plug. This fastener is used to temporarily or permanently close technical holes by screwing. Tightening can be done with a wrench or a special hexagon wrench.
Fastening group DIN 906
Depending on the material of manufacture, DIN 906 plugs are divided into groups:
- Stainless fasteners
- Brass fasteners
Materials for the manufacture of DIN 906 plugs
DIN 906 plugs are manufactured in the following materials:
- Steel, which can be optionally coated with zinc and zinc plated
- Brass. Brass nuts are used if the system is subjected to frequent dynamic, vibration and cyclic loads.
- Stainless steel grades A2 and A4. Allows the use of fasteners at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments.
Application range of DIN 906 plugs
A plug is a fastener used to close technical holes to prevent leakage of oils or other liquids used in various types of internal combustion engines, gearboxes, transmissions, and so on.
DIN 906 is used in air conditioning and heating systems, in oil lines, in engine crankcases, in hydraulic cylinder and gearbox housings.
