The DIN 936 is a special low hexagonal nut that prevents the self-detachment of linked fasteners of increased height or standard height.

Depending on the material of manufacture, DIN 936 nuts are divided into groups:
- Brass fasteners - nuts made of brass
- Stainless fasteners - nuts are made of stainless steel

DIN 936 is available in a variety of materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc plating and plain (white) zinc.
- Brass, no coating material required
- Stainless steel A2 and A4
