Din 975 (popularly called rod or bar) is a threaded rod with a metric thread along the entire length, which is intended for extending fastening structures with a metric thread, hanging ventilation systems on ceilings. The DIN 975 threaded rod is manufactured in two lengths of 1 and 2 meters, and connecting nuts are used to extend the structure.
Strength class DIN 975
The DIN 975 stud is made of steel with a strength class from 3.6 to 12.9. From a strength class of 8.8, the threaded rod is considered high-strength.
DIN 975 fastening group
Depending on the material of manufacture, DIN 975 threaded rods are divided into the following fastening groups:
- High strength
- Brass
- Polyamide
- Stainless steel
Materials of manufacture of DIN 975 threaded rod with metric thread
1. Steel. The range of strength class of this material is 3.6-12.9. In addition, this material can be additionally coated:
- Zinc for better corrosion protection if the product is to be used in aggressive environments.
- Zinc plate - it has similar properties to ordinary zinc, but the product looks matte.
- Yellow zinc - similar properties to ordinary zinc, but the color is different - yellow.
- Hot-dip galvanizing. Products with this coating are the most resistant to corrosion.
2. Stainless steel A2, A4, A5. Allows the use of fasteners at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments.
3. Brass is used if the system is subjected to frequent dynamic, vibration and cyclic loads.
4. Polyamide withstands mechanical shocks, does not crack or break at the permissible load factor.
