EN 14399-4 High-strength structural bolts are a type of fasteners used to connect the elements of responsible structures and allow to ensure the resistance of the nodes of these structures to loads. Such bolts are special fastening elements designed for use in connections subject to vibrations or high dynamic loads.
Strength class EN 14399-4
Bolt strength class EN 14399-4 is the maximum applied force at which the bolt begins to break. Din 6914 bolts are manufactured in strength class 10.9.
High-strength EN 14399-4 should only be purchased from proven suppliers. It is made of alloy steel and such bolts are used for responsible projects where, in addition to high loads and static loads, the EN 14399-4 bolt is subjected to constant vibration. Such bolts will be especially relevant in bridge construction, instrument construction, as well as in structures located near objects subject to vibration.
Fastening group EN 14399-4
High-strength bolts are made only of high-strength steel and belong to the High-strength fastener group.
Materials for the manufacture of bolts EN 14399-4
High-strength bolts are made only from high-strength structural alloy steel. The high strength class 10.9 allows the use of bolts in highly loaded connections.
Scope of use of bolts EN 14399-4
The products are intended for operation under conditions of increased loads. Steel with strength class not lower than 10.9, with zinc coating, is used for production. The main field of application is highly loaded prestressed threaded connections in steel structures. Fittings are supplied with a thread diameter from M12 to M36. Tightening requires great effort, which is achieved due to the enlarged head, but the use of EN 14399-4 bolts does not require special skills and equipment.
