EN 1664 is a fastener that does not require the use of a spring or flat washer when assembling detachable connections in a structure. The flange can be manufactured with or without notches. The presence of notches on the flange prevents spontaneous unwinding of the fastener in the mounting hole when it is subjected to dynamic loads. The increased attachment area on the flange side reduces the pressure on the attached part.
Strength class EN 1664
The strength class of a nut is the maximum applied force at which the nut begins to fracture. The EN 1664 standard is only available in high-strength steel with strength classes 8 and 10.
Fastening group EN 1664
EN 1664 is made of high-strength steel and belongs to the high-strength fastener group.
Materials of manufacture:
EN 1664 is available in the following materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with hot-dip galvanized and ordinary zinc
Areas of application of EN 1664
EN 1664 is best used on heated elements where a conventional polyamide ring would be destroyed by temperature. The absence of non-metallic locking elements makes this nut the best solution in harsh environments from low to high temperatures. It has also found its place in use in mechanical engineering, cargo transportation, crane assembly, or other assembly shops of enterprises in various fields.
