ISO 4026 Set screws are divided into the following groups depending on the material of manufacture:
- High-strength fastener group (fasteners made of high-strength steel)
- Stainless fastener (made of stainless steel)

The ISO 4026 screw is available in a variety of materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc
- Or ISO 4026 stainless steel A2 and A4
Application area.
These screws are often used in echanical engineering, instrumentation and other industrial production. They are commonly used in the assembly and repair of cars and other vehicles, the installation of metal frames, and in furniture production.
The scope of application also directly depends on the material of manufacture and the coating of the product:
- Zinc coating on steel protects against corrosion if the fasteners are to be used in aggressive environments
- Stainless steel, grade A2. The material is non-toxic and corrosion-resistant, which makes it suitable for use in the food and medical industries.
- A4 is the second most popular grade; it also has similar properties to A2, but is more resistant to corrosion in aggressive environments and acids due to the addition of molybdenum.
