ISO 7038 Socket nuts are nuts that are used on various types of axles and shafts that are subject to vibration and dynamic loads. Holes are drilled in these axles into which cotter pins are inserted after tightening the nut, which in turn pass through vertical slots in the nut. This allows the nut to be securely fastened and prevents it from loosening during vibration.
Fastening group ISO 7038
The ISO 7038 open ended nuts are made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless steel fastener group.
Materials for the manufacture of ISO 7038 nuts
ISO 7038 nuts are made of stainless steel grades A2 and A4, which allows the fasteners to be used at high temperature extremes and in aggressive and humid environments.
Applications for ISO 7038 nuts
The ISO 7038 nut is used in mechanical engineering, instrumentation, machine tool building and construction. The DIN 979 nut is used in conjunction with a cotter pin that has a locking function. The cotter pin is inserted into a slot and a pre-prepared hole in the screw/stud on which the nut is screwed.
