ISO 7436 is a set screw with a straight slot and a drilled end. The main difference between a set screw and other types is the absence of a head or cap. At its ends, there are special protrusions or recesses - slots - that strengthen the connection and fixation of structural parts.
Fastening group ISO 7436
Set screws with straight slot and drilled end ISO 7436 are made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless steel fasteners group.
Materials for the manufacture of ISO 7436 screws
ISO 7436 screws are made of stainless steel grade A2. Steel grade A2 or “food grade stainless steel” is one of the most commonly used. The material is non-toxic and corrosion-resistant, which makes it suitable for use in the food and medical industries. The alloy itself has no magnetic properties, but it can develop them during cold machining of steel.
Applications for ISO 7436 screws
The ISO 7436 screw is installed in a blind hole and tightened so that the metal of the base is pressed out by this edge. Thus, due to friction forces, the metal product is self-stopped in the hole. This quality of fastening is used in components that are subject to alternating and vibration loads, for example, in gearboxes.
It is widely used in:
- mechanical engineering,
- instrumentation,
- industrial and manufacturing sectors.
