DIN 427 is a headless set screw that consists of a metal rod with an incomplete metric thread. The set screw is designed to securely fasten metal products together and prevents lateral loosening.
DIN 427 fastening group
Most often, DIN 427 screws are made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless steel fastener group.
Materials used to manufacture DIN 427 screws
DIN 427 screws are made of the following materials:
- Steel, which can be optionally coated with zinc. Zinc (Plated) protects against corrosion if the fastener is to be used in aggressive environments.
- Stainless steel grades A1 and A4. Allows the use of fasteners at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments.
Application range of DIN 427 screws
The set screw is intended for fastening various components of machines and mechanisms to each other, and it can also be used to fasten various building structures. Since the screw has no head, the pin is completely immersed in the hole and does not protrude above the surface. It has a small threaded portion, but provides a secure fit.
