ISO 2342 is a headless set screw, which is a metal rod with an incomplete metric thread. This set screw is designed to securely fasten metal products together and prevents lateral loosening.
ISO 2342 fastening group
Most often, ISO 2342 screws are made of stainless steel and belong to the stainless steel fastener group.
Materials for the manufacture of ISO 2342 screws
ISO 2342 screws are made of the following materials:
- Steel, which can be optionally coated with zinc. Zinc (Plated) protects against corrosion if the fastener is to be used in aggressive environments.
- Stainless steel grades A1 and A4. Allows the fasteners to be used at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments.
Scope of use of ISO 2342 screws
The set screw is intended for fastening various components of machines and mechanisms to each other, and it can also be used to fasten various building structures. Since the screw has no head, the pin is completely immersed in the hole and does not protrude above the surface. It has a small threaded portion, but provides a secure fit.
