DIN 741 is a clamp for a rope (cable), which is an element of rigging. It is used for splicing steel ropes or forming loops on them. This device provides a secure attachment. Therefore, it is (according to the current regulatory documents) mandatory for use when a steel rope/ cable is used during construction work. The clamp connection is inferior in terms of reliability to the procedure of braiding the ends during extension, but superior in this respect to the knotting operation.
DIN 741 fastening group
Most often, this clamp is made of stainless steel and belongs to the stainless steel fastener group.
