Overview
GOST 1477-93 is a set screw with a straight slot and a flat end. The main difference between the set screw and other types is the absence of a head or cap. At its ends, there are special protrusions or recesses - slots - that strengthen the connection and fixation of structural parts.

Depending on the material of manufacture, GOST 1477-93 is divided into groups:
- Stainless fasteners - DIN 551 screws made of stainless steel
- Brass fasteners - screws made of brass
- Polyamide fasteners - screws made of polyamide
Materials for the manufacture of GOST 1477-93 screws
Screws of GOST 1477-93 are made of the following materials:
- Steel, which can be additionally coated with zinc.
- Stainless steel A2, A4, A5. It allows the fasteners to be used at significant temperature drops and in aggressive and humid environments. Also, this material does not require additional coating.
- Brass. Brass bolts are used if the system is subjected to frequent dynamic, vibration, and cyclic loads.
- Polyamide withstands mechanical shocks, does not crack or break at the permissible load factor.
Scope of use of GOST 1477-93 screws
Setting screws of GOST 1477-93 are widely used in many branches of industrial production. Such products are used in mechanical engineering, automotive industry, assembly of aircraft, machine tools, and other mechanisms and assemblies. Set screws can also be used in construction, assembly of metal frames and many other structures. They are durable and resistant to mechanical stress.
