Overview
ISO 4766 is a set screw with a straight slot and a flat end. The main difference between the set screw and other types is the absence of a head or cap. At its ends, there are special protrusions or recesses - slots - that strengthen the connection and fixation of structural parts.
Fastening group ISO 4766
Depending on the material of manufacture, ISO 4766 is divided into groups:
- Stainless fasteners - ISO 4766 screws that are made of stainless steel
- Brass fasteners - screws made of brass
- Polyamide fasteners - screws made of polyamide
Materials for the manufacture of ISO 4766 screws
ISO 4766 screws are made of the following materials:
Steel, which can be optionally coated with zinc.
- Stainless steel A2, A4, A5. This material allows the fasteners to be used at significant temperature changes and in aggressive and humid environments. Also, this material does not require additional coating.
- Brass. Brass bolts are used if the system is subjected to frequent dynamic, vibration, and cyclic loads.
- Polyamide withstands mechanical shocks, does not crack or break under the permissible load factor.
Applications for ISO 4766 screws
Setting screws ISO 4766 are widely used in many industries. These products are used in mechanical engineering, automotive, aircraft assembly, machine tools, and other mechanisms and assemblies. Set screws can also be used in construction, assembly of metal frames and many other structures. They are durable and resistant to mechanical stress.
