ISO 4029 is a set screw, a metal fastener that looks like a rod with a full thread. The main difference between a set screw and other types of screws is the absence of a head or cap. At its ends, there are special protrusions or recesses - slots - that strengthen the connection and fixation of parts.

Depending on the material of manufacture, ISO 4029 is divided into groups:
- High-strength fasteners, screws made of high-strength steel.
- Stainless fasteners, screws made of stainless steel

ISO 4029 set screws are made from a variety of materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc
- Stainless steel of steel grades A2 and A4
