A self-locking nut is a nut used in connection elements that are constantly exposed to dynamic loads, especially vibration, which can cause loosening. Locking in DIN 985 is achieved by a nylon ring in which a thread is cut when tightened.
Area of application: DIN 985 is used in mechanical engineering, construction, warehouse equipment, lifting equipment, agricultural machinery, tools, etc.
Material: high-strength structural alloy steel. The high strength class 8 allows the nuts to be used in heavy-duty connections.
Coating: zinc plate. Zinc plate protects against corrosion if the fasteners are to be used in aggressive environments.
Common name: lock nut.
