ISO 4028 is a set screw, a metal fastener that looks like a rod with a full thread. The main difference between a set screw and other types is the absence of a head. At its ends, there are special protrusions or recessed splines that help to strengthen the connection and fixation of structural parts.

Depending on the material of manufacture, ISO 4028 is divided into groups:
- High-strength fasteners, screws made of high-strength steel.
- Stainless fasteners, screws made of stainless steel
Materials for the manufacture of ISO 4028 screws
ISO 4028 set screws are made from a variety of materials:
- Steel, which can optionally be coated with zinc
- Stainless steel of steel grades A2 and A4

Steel set screw with socket (gouge, threaded pin) Used for fixing two or more coaxial parts with a thread.
