Types of standards of fasteners

What are the standards of fasteners?

The standards of fastening products provide ease of selection for the formation of reliable connections with the necessary technical characteristics. The main advantage of standardization is the ability to choose a replacement or several full-fledged mounting options using regulated product parameters. There is a table of conformity to search for conformity according to standards.

DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung)

DIN (German Institute for Standardization)
DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) - standards and norms that were developed by the German Institute for Standardization. Before Germany joined the European Union, it was the main element of standardization. Now all DIN standards have been replaced by European Union counterparts:
  • DIN EN – is a European standard (EN), adopted unchanged as the state standard of Germany.
  • DIN ISO – is a standard of the International Organization for Standardization, which was adopted by DIN without adjustment.
  • DIN EN ISO – is a joint standard of ISO and CEN, adopted without changes by the German Institute for Standardization.
  • EN ISO – is the European interpretation of the ISO standard. For ease of use, the numbering assigned by the International Organization for Standardization is retained.
  • In a situation where DIN accepts an EN or ISO standard without changes, the previously valid national standard is annulled.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization)

ISO (International Organization for Standardization)
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) - is the newest of the currently popular standards in the international community. This system is developed by an international standardization system. New standards adapted to current DIN standards have been devised.
