What anchor to choose
If you need to buy an anchor for construction or repair, you should know that there are many types of this fastener. Depending on the design features and functional load, the following are distinguished:
|
- The anchor is single-split. It has pressed elements only on one side.
- The anchor is double-spaced. Stretched elements are located at the end and in the middle.
- Frame anchor. The so-called lightweight anchor. It is used in structures in which there is no great effort to pull out. For example, for fastening window and door structures.
- The anchor is wedge-shaped. It is also called ceiling, it has a locking head and a spacer wedge in its design (it is very difficult to dismantle).
- Hammer anchor. It does not have a bolt and a nut, but has an internal thread and a long pin. The hammer anchor is used when the base is located at a long distance.
- Clamping anchor. This is an anchor for thin and hollow structures. This anchor does not have clamping elements, instead, during installation, the middle part of the body is deformed and pressed against the inner part of the hole
|
The only thing that unites all these varieties is installation in an already prepared hole in advance.
What else to pay attention to
In addition to the types of anchor bolts listed above, there are also classifications of this type of fastening according to other parameters. Depending on the method of fastening, you can also buy anchors:
- mechanical (classic version, used most often);
- chemical (the hole into which the anchor is inserted is filled with a special solidifying mixture, accordingly, the price of the anchor is more expensive, compared to a mechanical one).
It is also worth noting that the anchor bolt can be temporary or permanent. This is a very important parameter that is often unfairly ignored.
