Anti-vandal fastening: screws, self-tapping screws and nuts, which make disassembly difficult
A huge variety of fastening options is due to different conditions of operation of the products. The fastening must guarantee the reliability of the connection in various situations, withstand the influence of the external environment, mechanical pressure, vibration and. other In some cases, a not so obvious but no less important requirement for fastening is resistance to illegal dismantling. For this, a special stainless anti-vandal fastener is used.
The need to use anti-vandal fastening arises first of all in situations when a product that has a certain value needs to be securely fixed in a place accessible to a large number of people. Common corridors and stairwells of buildings, elevators, public transport stops, pedestrian areas of streets - these are places where it is difficult to control the preservation of valuable devices placed in public access. Therefore, a wide range of options for anti-vandal fastening made of stainless steel is used to preserve and protect material values. First of all, these are anti-vandal screws and nuts, as well as anti-vandal self-tapping screws. |
What is anti-vandal fastening?
There are two fundamentally different approaches to connecting products with the help of anti-vandal fasteners - collapsible and non-collapsible.
• Non-detachable anti-vandal fastening is a one-time fixation of the fastening without the possibility of further dismantling.
• Demountable anti-vandal mounting is more in demand. It provides for the possibility of dismantling, which, however, cannot be performed with simple and affordable devices.
Fixed fastening: anti-vandal screws and nuts
There are two variants of non-detachable anti-vandal fastening, which have received the most widespread use.
• Detachable solutions. In this case, the detachment of a part of the fastener (for example, an anti-vandal nut or an anti-vandal screw) is used directly during installation. When tightening the anti-vandal tear-off nut, art. 9305 or anti-vandal tear-off screw, art. 9155, the tear-off head breaks off, and disassembly becomes impossible.
• One-sided slots. In this case, the anti-vandal screw or anti-vandal self-tapping screw is equipped with a one-way slot. You can screw in such a fastener (for example, an anti-vandal screw, art. 9131) using an ordinary screwdriver or a bit with a straight slot, but it will not work to unscrew the fastener. The tool will simply slide over the head of the anti-vandal screw.
Removable fastening: anti-vandal self-tapping screws and screws
It is necessary to understand that the collapsible anti-vandal fastening does not protect the connection against dismantling, but it increases the safety and preservation of products due to the use of non-standard slots. Such slots are most widely used.

All elements of anti-vandal fastening are made of stainless austenitic steel A2 and A4. Due to the inclusion of chromium and nickel, they are perfectly protected against corrosion.
